Boom Bots 2404

Hello! We are a VEX robotics team located in Fremont, CA, determined to participate in the Vex V5 competition. Created in 2022, our team consists of 4 boys and 4 girls, all going to Washington High School and excited to work together to achieve a perfect robot while having a fun time!

Our Goals

We hope to gain valuable hands-on experience working with robotics and hope to engage our competitive side through the Vex Competition, while not restricting ourselves of fun. Furthermore we would like to extend our knowledge of robotics to many people around the Bay Area of any condition. We aim to reach the World Championships in Dallas to show the prowess of our robot.

Robotics Experience Before VEX

Our founders have had an interest in robotics from a young age, experimenting with Legos from a young age to make an infrastructure of their dream creations. They delved into the art of robotics in eighth grade and Sid Saigal and Varun Chakka joined a robotics team originally, which is when our founders merged together to find our current team, Boombots.

Sponsors and Grants

We reached out to nearly 50 Bay Area companies and start-ups, getting successful replies from 5, supporting our adventures, getting us more parts to advance our creations and knowledge of automation.

Outreach

Instead of just focusing on robotics, we also wanted to help our community, so we reached out to FCSN and have partnered with them once to teach robotics through legos and plan to extend this to more kids as well.

VEX Robotics is an organization founded by Tony Norman and Bob Mimlitch. The motivation behind founding VEX was to give students the opportunity to apply their creativity and technological talents in making a problem-solving robot.
